Aint That The Truth!!!!!
Well gentlemen its that time of year again so get the chocolate and the flowers ordered and bought cause that’s what is expected of you. I know that sounds well kinda wow but its the honest truth women just expect that shit on this particular day of year. It doesn’t really matter if you spontaneously do that throughout the year because Valentines Day is “Special.”
So in this little blog post of mine I am going to talk about what Valentines Day has really turned into. The blunt honest truth about this holiday and why is has become such a big fucking deal especially to girls. I’m sorry ladies but its just a day it is just February 14th but for some reason its been turned into something that oh I dunno is mandatory in a relationship now a days. Wanna know something that is really significant about this day that is actually worth taking some interest in, this is the first day back in the 1920′s that penicillin was used to cure an injury.
V-Day Throughout History
Lets touch base on that for a minute the relevant and actually important stuff that has happened on Valentines Day. You see here people Valentines Day is not all sunshine and rainbows it does not always mean warm fuzzies and love. Here is my point, I am going to just give you a few examples of some events that have happened on what has become a commercial holiday and a great day for the candy and flower companies, oh and jewelry companies we can’t forget them.

- February 14, 1929- St. Valentines Day Massacre, now doesn’t that sound like a warm and fuzzy good time. The bloody murder of leader of Chicago’s north side mob Dion O’Banion happened 5 years before the massacre and it was a battle of north and south side and the south side was run by Johnny Torrio and someone you may be familiar with Mr. Al Capone. North siders retaliated and it was a big mess that eventually lead to Capone delivering a very special Valentine to the new leader of the north side mob, George “Bugs” Moran.
- February 14, 278 A.D.- St. Valentine was beheaded, now doesn’t that just make you all warm and fuzzy inside. Emperor Claudius II was trying to build a strong army but was having problems due to what he thought was this attachment that men had to their wives and families. So in order to solve this problem marriages and engagements were banned in Rome, however Valentine still performed weddings in secret. You can guess that the Emperor found out and Valentine was put to death.
- February 14, 1847- The most influential woman of the Woman’s Suffrage Movement was born into the world. This woman did great things for females and is now in the Woman’s Hall Of Fame. She died of pneumonia but made a big dent in the world before that unfortunate day.

So as you can see there are a lot of other things to think about on Valentines Day to think about other than what kind of candy or flowers to get. See America has turned this day into a holiday to benefit stores and make lonely people feel worse about themselves. If you are absent a valentine on this day then your just depressed and typically alcohol and Chinese food are your best friends. However for those who are in a relationship things are just expected to be done and if they aren’t the whole day is ruined.
Ladies if you do not get flowers and candy and some sappy card it is not the end of the fucking world. Especially if you have a man that does spontanious and romantic things for you now and then on random days in the year. Like when you wake up and there are flowers on the night stand just cause he felt like it that to me is more romantic than getting things like that on a day where that’s the thing to do.
Valentines Day should not be the one day of the damn year where a guy is romantic that is just silly to me but most people in America give in to it and some even go all out. They like have to top what was done last year or do something super fantastic cause they know their girls are expecting it. If you are a girl and your getting all pissy cause your friends got balloons and crap from their honeys I’m sorry but that’s pathetic and childish. Just be happy that you are together and enjoy each others company.
