Its truly amazing how we have grown addicted to technology. We are always looking for the new up and coming thing that is gonna make our lives easier. We find it hard to get things done without certain gadgets that have just become a part of our everyday lives.
The Internet
This is used to serve and connect millions of people world wide. This network to network operating system consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks on a local to global scale that are linked by a broad array of electronic and optical networking technologies. The internet carries a vast amount of information resources and services to people all over the world. You can literally do anything from the internet.
The history of the internet goes all the way back to the 1960′s. During this time the united states was funding research for the military to create a network service. For a short period of time this was also funded by civilians but it turned into a national funded organization. The creation of new technologies allowed for more professional and productive research and by the 1990′s we had an international network.
There are some differences in terminology. This meaning that the internet and world wide web (WWW) are two different things. The internet is a global data communication system. It is essentially a hardware and a software that provides instant connectivity. The Web is one of the services provided by the internet is is a bunch of interconnected documents and other resources that are linked by hyperlinks and URLs.
Cell Phones
This is a handheld device that provides mobile telecommunications, text messaging, and data transfers. By the end of 2009 the estimated cell phone subscriber usage was 4.6 million. Mobile phones have become an essential part of our daily lives. Without them we feel so disconnected from the world. With the things that cell phones can do these days life is made pretty easy via cell phone.
In 1908, U.S. Patent 887,357 for a wireless telephone was issued to Nathan B. Stubblefield of Murray, Kentucky. He did not immediatly use this for “Cellular Telephony”, this being the work of cellular technologies. The first mobile phone did not come about until 1947 by Bell Labs, better known toady as AT&T. These phone were further developed and perfected through the 1960′s, a patent for the first wireless phone as we know today was issued in US Patent Number 3,449,750 to George Sweigert of Euclid, Ohio on June 10, 1969.
The cell phones of today can do a lot more then the phones back then could do. If you have one of the smart phones. They are literally a computer in your hand. Most of what you can do on a computer you can do on your phone. Not to mention the text messaging and picture mail and video accessories. Mobile phones are used for a variety of purposes these days, including keeping in touch with family members, conducting business, and having access to a telephone and the internet in the event of an emergency. Some people even keep more than one cell phone, one for businesses and one for personal reasons.
Television/ Tv Devices
VHS do you remember those. In another 5 years there probably wont be any left. In all reality the same probably goes for DVD’s. It seems like every 3 months new and better TV’s and there device counter parts ar being upgraded and improved. You cant even use “Bunny Ears” any more, unless you get a converter. I mean think about it though, why get a converter when buying a whole new set up will work a whole lot better and keep you in the loop with the up to dat equiptment for I dunno a week.
Publicly available since the 1930′s the television has become a necessity in the household. For the accessories that you can get to go with you TV. video casets, laser discs, DVD’s and now blue ray have been available since the 1970′s. The television is used for many things. Advertisements, entertainment, news. It is even often used to babysit a child.Television sets used to be plain and simple with their black and white images. now we have high definition image and sound and plasma flat screen wall TV’s. It changed quite a bit.
There is something for everyone on TV. Cartoons, news, politics, home shopping. You name it its probably on TV. Its really a genius thing if you think about it. By monitoring the demographics and who stays up late, company’s know when to advertise and to who they want to advertise to.
Technology is forever changing. Pretty soon it wont even matter if you at home you’ll be able to check everything from your phone or some other futuristic device. All technology is constantly being altered and changed for the better. New stuff is always coming out, and old technology will become outdated and a thing of the past. You have got to stay up to date with these changes its phenomenal. The thing that we are able to do now, what we are able to create is trustfully amazing.
