Singles Awareness Day… The ooey gooey lovey dovey people refer to it as Valentines day. However, from this day on I will be referring to V-Day as Singles Awareness Day! It’s quite accurate if you ask me…
Think about it. Everywhere you look on February 14th, all you see is couples celebrating their love for each other… YUCK! Single people see this and are then reminded of their lonely companionless lives… Hence, Singles Awareness Day.
Now I am sire there are single people out there that don’t care about being reminded. Those are the people that are often single by choice, but for those who aren’t single by choice… They are bound to have some issues with that type of reminder.

The funny thing is that most people don’t even know how this “Holiday” got started… I will tell you that it ended with a Saint being tortured and BEHEADED though.
A Saint Valentine, yes I believe that was his name. Now isn’t that just the most romantic thing you have ever heard… (Insert Sarcasm Here! )
Look, I am not trying to… Ya know what I can’t even finish that. Cause I am trying to paint a more realistic picture for you in regards to Valentines Day…
If you are deep in love and truly care about your significant other…
You shouldn’t wait for a “Holiday” to show just how much you love them. That should be a daily, or at the least a weekly thing.
For those of you celebrating what this day really is–Singles Awareness Day–whether it’s by choice or not. Put a smile on your face, go out and buy yourself some wine and a good movie, and have a romantic date with YOU!
Yes, being single can sometimes SUCK! However, being single is also the best possible time, for you to get to know yourself. A time for you to figure out what YOU want and need out of life, and a significant other.
YOU are the most important person in YOUR life. This is something I say a lot… Why? Because it could not be more true. You do not need someone to buy you flowers, cards, and candy on a dumb commercial “Holiday” to be happy.
Make YOURSELF happy!!!
